Now we will add the clients into the AD server with the following process and then the users will only be able to access the systems using the Ad authentication and will be managed centrally by the AD server and the domain controller centrally.
We have this client computer and now we will add this computer in the domain using the domain credentials
Now we will configure the gateway to the domains IP Address so that we can connect to the active directory
Here the gateway and the primary DNS server of the client machine should be the IP Address of the domain controller to ensure the client can be added onto the domain
We will now enter the settings and select the rename this PC option and under advance we will have option to enter this computer into the domain
Here the computer is successfully configured the domain and now we can authenticate the computer with the users we have created inside the domain controller.
We are now sucessfuly logged in as HR user inside the Rookie domain controller which means out AD users are sucessfully able to authenticate using the AD
Users inside a domain can access a wide range of resources and services depending on their roles and permissions. This may include internal websites, shared file systems, databases, printers, and network drives. They can also utilize email systems, internal messaging platforms, and collaboration tools designed to enhance productivity and communication within the organization. In many cases, administrators set up access control policies to ensure that sensitive data and systems are only accessible to authorized users. Additionally, users may be granted varying levels of access, such as read, write, or administrative privileges, depending on their job responsibilities.
Now we will learn other AD functions & features in the upcoming sections
