Creating First Policy

We will be creating the basic policy to understand how the windows policy works.

Here we can see our domain listed and we will create all policies under this domain to apply the group policies over the clients. Other than domain we can also create policies under the department to restrict policies to certain departments only.

Upon editing the policy the group policy management console will open and then policies can be applied here. We will aapply a demo policy here and check the status

Upon changing any settings here this can be reflected on the below given tab

When applying policy on the complete domain the following policy will apply on the domain controller as well so we have to delegate that the domain controller is free from the restrictions

This will deny the policy to be applied to certain groups over the domain and also not on the domain controllers to efficiently manage the management access.

Now we will setup some basic policies that can be applied on every organisation to ensure security hardening and compliance in the upcoming sections.
