Adding Hosts into Zabbix

Once all the zabbix components are installed and running now we will start adding hosts into the zabbix dashboard to enable monitoring of host with capabilities of zabbix templetes and mechanisms.

Adding Hosts is very simple process in the zabbix dashboard , We will have to navigate to Monitoring > Hosts section on the zabbix dashboard & select Add Host option on the top right section.

The above is the configuration page where we need to enter details related to device connectivity. & If we are monitoring the host using IPMI then we will use the following config page :

We can further play into sections such as macros , tags, encryption and value mapping to further customize the host configured in the zabbix.

The most important paramrter is the zabbix templetes which is ready made boiler plates to start monitoring with ease and we can customize it accodingly on the fly. We can see the available templetes in zabbix using Data Collection > Templetes section on zabbix dashboard
